Desofin in slim aluminum tube of 50g

Desofin pat. applied for brass ingot melting.

Method of using when melting:

  1. Any adjustments to the aluminum or zinc content of the melt should be made prior to adding Desofin
  2. The surface of the melt should be reasonably free of slag
  3. Desofin should be added to the melt by immersing the capsules at least 100 cm. below the liquid metal surface

What you can get by adding Desofin when melting:

  1. Perfect metal grain structure
  2. Reduction of casting scrap
  3. Reduction in finishing and rework costs
  4. Savings over the cost of purchasing fine grained ingot

Notes: 1. If Sn + Fe is greater than 0.5%, intermetallic compounds will form that will leave "comet tails" when casting is polished. 2. Miller & Englehardt Co., lltd recommends use of "B-2" yellow brass alloy with DesofinTM for permanent molding applications. B[1]2 alloy composition: Cu 59.5 to 61.5%; Pb 0% to 3.0%; Al 0.5% to 0.7%, Ni 1%; Sn + Fe 0.5 % max, Mn 0.02% max, Si 0.02% max, Zn balance.

1% Ash Expandable Graphite Powder 1% Moisture 200ml/G 80 Mesh
Indonesia Jan 13.2025
This is our first order of expandable graphite for R&D purposes. The product arrived well-packaged and dry. The technical data sheet provided was accurate. We tested the expansion ratio under high heat, and it matched the manufacturer's claim closely. The flake size distribution was good. Customer service was responsive to our pre-sale inquiries. Will order again for our larger batch production.
