The main purpose
1, as refractory materials: graphite and its products with high temperature resistance, high strength properties, in the metallurgical industry is mainly used to manufacture graphite crucible, in steelmaking graphite is commonly used as a protective agent of ingot, metallurgy furnace lining.
2, as conductive materials: used in the electrical industry to manufacture electrodes, brushes, carbon rods, carbon tubes, mercury positioner anode, graphite gaskets, telephone parts, television picture tube coating, etc.
3, for wear-resistant lubrication materials: graphite is often used as a lubricant in the machinery industry. Lubricating oil often can not be used under the conditions of high speed, high temperature and high pressure, and graphite wear-resistant materials can be in (a) 200~2000 ℃ temperature in the very high sliding speed, without lubricating oil work. Piston cups, sealing rings and bearings made of graphite are widely used in many equipment for conveying corrosive media. They do not need lubricating oil when running. Graphite is also a good lubricant for many metal processing (wire drawing, tube drawing).
4, graphite has good chemical stability. After special processing of graphite, with corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, low permeability, a large number of used in the production of heat exchanger, reaction tank, condensing device, combustion tower, absorber, cooler, heater, filter, pump equipment. Widely used in petrochemical, hydrometallurgy, acid and alkali production, synthetic fiber, paper and other industrial sectors, can save a lot of metal materials.

6, used in atomic energy industry and national defense industry: graphite has good neutron moderator used in atomic reactors, uranium graphite reactor is a more widely used atomic reactor. The decelerating material in the atomic energy reactor used for power should have high melting point, stability and corrosion resistance, and graphite can fully meet the above requirements. The purity of graphite used as an atomic reactor is very high, and the impurity content should not exceed tens of PPM. In particular, the boron content should be less than 0.5PPM. In the defense industry, graphite is also used to make nozzles for solid fuel rockets, nose cones for missiles, spare parts for space travel equipment, heat insulation materials and radiation protection materials.
7, graphite can also prevent boiler scaling, the relevant unit test shows that adding a certain amount of graphite powder in water (about 4~5 grams per ton of water) can prevent boiler surface scaling. In addition, graphite coated in metal chimneys, roofs, Bridges, pipes can be anticorrosive rust.
8, graphite can be used as pencil lead, pigment, polishing agent. After special processing of graphite, various special materials can be made for the relevant industrial departments.
